Football Club (Women's): Volunteering Secretary

While I have enjoyed my first year in the football club, I would love to make more of an impact next year. I have chosen to stand for volunteering secretary because of the fact that I believe it to be a very important role. In schools, football initiatives often don't target girls. I believe that through volunteering, we can impact the way young girls see football as a real potential sport and even see us as role models. What I like about this role is that there are opportunities to make connections and partnerships with charities and schools, which is a valuable skill to have. As I currently mentor a child in school, I have learnt patience and understanding around children and have been developing a good knowledge of charities, something I wish to gain more insight into. If elected I will take the time to find opportunities to volunteer and to make a difference.
