Hi everyone, if you don’t already know me, I’m Ria! I’m standing for President because this club has meant so much to me over the past two years.
When I joined as a fresher, I realised how powerful UCLWFC can be for anyone looking for friendship, belonging and a real sense of home at university. It is more than just football; it is a support system, a community, and a space where everyone is encouraged to grow in confidence on and off the pitch.
In my second year, captaining the 2s gave me the opportunity to step up as a leader and understand what goes on behind the scenes to keep a team running smoothly, from admin and organisation to supporting players on and off the pitch.
Closely watching our lovely president this year has shown me how much time and commitment it takes to hold everything together, and it has made me even more motivated to give back to a club that has given me so much.
As President, I would want to grow the club's visibility through local partnerships and open training sessions that bring more people into women’s football. I would also love to build on what we have by strengthening connections across all teams, organising more joint socials beyond our usual Wednesdays, expanding our fundraising for charities and the club, and much more. I’m ready and, more importantly, excited to take on that challenge.
If you can't tell yet, I love UCLWFC and would be honoured to be your president.
Please vote for me! (If you're not convinced, come along to the AGM...)
