Rej Bicol

Hi Filsoc!
My name is Rej and I am a bunso in linguistics. I was born in England, near Tesco, but my family is from Batangas, Lipa City. I am running to be your welfare officer, to filSERVE for the committee and filSERVE for the community. Here are some reasons to vote me!
Experience
• Vice-presidency in my college, overseeing the general population on well-being. Also collaborated with other members to facilitate efficiency and look after well-being in the team
• Youth board of a mental health organization “I-rock Horsham”, identifying issues with access and finding solutions
• University tutor in Health and Social Care since year 12, exemplifying knowledge around mental, physical and social well-being
Community value
• Uphold the general friendliness and sigma demonstrated by the current committee
• I acknowledge the role of community within our well-being, posing as a point of access for well-being to UCL services
• Inclusivity in the community by talking and yapping about academics or the next feminist literature you wanna performatively read
Perspective on the role
• Uphold the family system to help integrate first years into the society
• Always be altruistic and friendly related or not to the society, I just want to be helpful wherever is meaningful :)
• Oversee well-being of the committee by conversations with peers and relieving stress by helping other officers with their tasks too. Well-being extends to everyone.
filSERVE for committee, filSERVE for community!

Sophia Grace Gagno

What’s up Filsoccc!! I’m Sophia and I’d be honoured to be your welfare officer! :))

I’m a first year medic, so I’m learning about your physical health, but I’m also here for you mental wellbeing ;) Jokes aside, I know university can be overwhelming. Filsoc is Filsoc because of its members, and as welfare officer I want to be the person who strengthens our relationships and makes everyone feel safe, heard and included by supporting you online and in person.

As previous co-leader of my school’s Mental Health Network, I know how to be a team player and will work with my fellow committee members to continue fostering the loving and fun environment Filsoc is. If you vote for me, I envision:

  • Working with committee for more events focused on welfare and bonding with other Filsoc members
  • Being a familiar, welcoming face at events
  • The person you feel free to reach out to about ANYTHING, I’m here for you!

I’m approachable, talkative and genuinely interested in your interests. I’ll hype you up on a night out, but I’m also here for random chats and deep talks; I’m someone you can rely on no matter the situation. Filsoc is more than a society, its our own little Pamilya, and don’t forget to vote for Sophia!
