Aya Bou Sraih

Hi, I’m Aya. Having served as External Relations for the Fashion Business Society in 2025–26, I’ve had the opportunity to see firsthand how much work, creativity, and coordination goes into shaping the events that define this society.

Through this role, I worked closely with partners and helped strengthen the society’s external presence, which showed me how impactful well-planned events can be in bringing people together. Whether it’s creating opportunities for networking, learning from industry professionals, or building a stronger fashion community on campus, events are often where those connections begin.

Alongside this, my experience at Vogue Arabia gave me insight into another side of the fashion industry: the editorial and cultural storytelling behind fashion media. Being around the production of editorials and fashion features showed me how fashion is not only about design, but also about narrative, creativity, and collaboration—elements that can also shape meaningful events.

Because of these experiences, I want to step into the role of Head of Events. My goal is to organize engaging and relevant events that connect members with the fashion industry, encourage collaboration, and create memorable experiences for everyone involved. I hope to build on what FBS already does well while introducing new ideas that keep our events dynamic and exciting.

Cece Karacan

I am standing for Head of Events because I have a passion for transforming ideas into structured, engaging experiences. Having organised a fashion show in high school where I was responsible not only for logistics and coordination but also for raising awareness, I understand the balance between creative direction and operational precision. Furthermore, I have completed a marketing & brand events internship at a global luxury brand which gave me a first-hand understanding of how successful events require alignment, structure, and attention to detail, thus I was able to build these skills relevant for the fashion industry where presentation shapes perception.

My goal would be to curate and organise events that reflect the professional realities of the fashion industry, from brand strategy panels to industry-focused workshops, while prioritising effective execution and strong engagement. I believe that I can elevate the society's event offering so that members gain not only inspiration but practical industry exposure to prepare them for successful careers.
