European Horizons Society: President

I went to my first meeting expecting a formal lecture and debate. Instead, I found a relaxed discussion that wandered from Brexit to Eastern Europe’s integration, and somehow made both feel fascinating and easy to understand. I have come to really look forward to the weekly meetings on Wednesdays. I think the tight-knit nature of these is what makes European Horizons stand out to me. Having served on the committee as First-Year Rep, I understand how this society works from the inside. My experience outside the society, coaching basketball and tutoring, means I can bring fresh leadership skills to it too.

Going forwards, I would want to continue the momentum that the society currently holds, continuing the journal, and holding weekly meetings. I would also aim to host more events in order to boost membership. These would include embassy visits, speaker events, collaborations with other societies and fun socials. I want to give more people next year the same opportunity that I had this year, and I would be honoured to have your vote to do so.
