For me, the foundation of the workshops should always be what members are curious to learn more about. I am eager to hear about the areas of English that interest you, regardless of whether they are topics you might consider unconventional, and using your ideas to organise the workshops of the English Society in the coming year, so that as a member you can engage with your passions, taught and guided by the professionals of English themselves.

Over the past year, I have served as one of the English subject representatives of the USPC, reflecting student opinions and worries on behalf of first years in their transition into university studies to members of the department. As your Workshop Officer, I aim to build on communicating between staff and student bodies, in curating a dynamic series of workshops. These will include a wide range of topics, covering not only literary and linguistic knowledge, but also the development of soft skills, equally applicable between the pages and in everyday life such as critical thinking and analysis.

I believe each member brings their own unique perspectives and experiences, especially with a workshop group of students of all disciplines. I hope to facilitate the intellectual exchange between professors to students, and create an inclusive platform through the workshops where all English enthusiasts can learn from and inspire one another!
