Engineers Without Borders Society: President

Hi, my name is Gaby Winarta, and I am the current President this term. I am excited to be renominating myself for the upcoming year because I genuinely love this role and serving the society.

I began my involvement as Activities Officer in my first year at university before stepping into the role of President in my second year. In this position, I took on significant responsibility in revitalising a previously low-engagement society. I independently initiated events, strengthened organizaiton within the committee, and coordinated activities that required strategic planning.

During my tenure, I established EWB-UCL’s first volunteering partnership with the NGO London Play Design and launched a UCL-wide sustainable design challenge that attracted over 50 new members. I am proud of the progress we have made and would love the opportunity to continue building on this momentum in the coming year, particularly with the upcoming national EWB Design Challenge, which I will be leading alongside a team of the four winning members from the UCL Design Challenge that we hosted.

I am looking forward to continuing to grow our society, creating even more opportunities for involvement, and strengthening the sense of community we have built together. I would truly appreciate your support and hope you will consider voting for me.
