Energy Society: Climate Report Officer

Hi everyone! My name is Lina, I’m a second-year Civil Engineering student with a minor in Environmental Engineering, and I’d love to be your next Climate Report Officer for the Energy Society.

I’m particularly interested in renewable energy and the role engineers play in tackling climate change. One of the reasons I’m excited about this role is the opportunity to help make climate information more accessible, relevant, and engaging for students who are interested in the energy sector.

If elected, I’d help facilitate and help everyone out with the climate reports that you guys would be working on throughout the year.

I’d also love to introduce things like “climate news of the week,” quick explainers on emerging technologies like hydrogen or carbon capture, and short spotlights on major global energy projects. This could help members stay informed about what’s happening in the industry and how it connects to what we study. 

Energy and climate are closely linked, and I’d love to help keep our society informed, curious, and engaged with the changes happening in this field.
