Egyptian Society: President

Hi everyone, I’m Diala, and I’m standing to be your next President of UCL Egyptian Society.

Over the past year, being part of this society has shown me how powerful community can be — especially for students navigating university away from home. I’m running because I genuinely care about strengthening that sense of belonging, creating meaningful events, and ensuring every member feels welcomed, represented, and heard.

I want to build on the work we’ve already done while introducing new initiatives that bring our community even closer together — socially, culturally, and professionally. Whether it’s organising larger-scale cultural events, strengthening collaborations with other societies, or creating more inclusive spaces for all Egyptians and friends of Egypt, my goal is to make the society feel like a home for everyone.

I’m committed, organised, and passionate about giving back to a community that has given me so much. I would be honoured to lead the society next year and continue building something we’re all proud of.
