Sabrina Devji

I always feel a sense of pride when applying for a role in the DRRH Society, not just because of the incredible work conducted by the Committee, but becuase I am a proud student of its sister Department, Risk and Disaster Reduction.

I am standing for 2nd Year Rep because I want to strengthen our community voice whilst enhancing and introducing more engaging and exciting initiatives, building on my work this term as 1st Year Rep.

In my former tenure, I worked to increase engagement in key events, including our Winter Ball and cross-course Football matches. I also pushed for more creative social opportunities, working with the Committee to host a Summer Ball in addition, whilst taking on Year Group concerns re our course, and what more can be done to enhance this.

If elected, I would:

  • Introduce more academic-social crossover events, including alumni mixers and panel discussions.
  • More cross-year group socials to increase social engagement and familiarity
  • Structured feedback forums to ensure every voice is heard, and that we can be voices for those less willing to speak.

In short, I want to ensure that every Second Year student feels represented in what is likely going to prove a difficult year. Whether I am elected or not, come to me for support anytime! I'm always here to help :)

I hope to gain your vote this election.
