As a member of the Dance Society for the past two years, I've been subject to every room for every kind of rehearsal imaginable. From the best rooms in IOE, to the worst rooms in buildings I never knew existed, I truly have the knowledge of where dancers rehearse and perform. As scheduling officer, I would do my absolute best to weigh the needs of each booking request with the rooms available; e.g trying to give ballet wood floors, giving large numbers a properly sized room. etc. As incredible as the past scheduling officers have been, I still believe there is room for improvement, so as scheduling officer I would communicate with other societies and request priority for rooms, work with UCL SU and reserve proper spaces for performances, and do all of this in a timely, organized fashion. I pride myself on my multitasking and organizational capacity, balancing a difficult major with 3 part-time jobs, choreographing and performing in almost every DanceSoc show, being part of other academic societies, and of course keeping a social life and staying active. I am very proud of the fact that this entire year, I did not miss a single rehearsal for any show! And I like to credit this to my ability to manage my time and schedule effectively, which is exactly what I would do as scheduling officer. This role is a chance to connect with all dancers, choreographers, directors, and teachers, showing my care for them by helping manage spaces and times in order to perform our absolute best.
