Tanay Rai

My name is Tanay and I am running to be your Training Secretary. I am keen to make sure that the training sessions in place are both fun and able to aid your own cricket development. I have been to almost every Wednesday training and have been able to see what works and what doesn't. I have found that the most important thing is that the sessions are high energy and include an aspect of fielding and nets with the skill-level of each net being selected properly so everyone has the best chance to play with other's who are at their level. I will introduce beginner friendly sessions at the start of Term One for anyone who is new to cricket allowing them to learn the basics and also encouraging more people to join cricket without feeling like that have to be the next Anish Das. I want to also make sure that there are a sufficient number of 1XI players coming to the whole squad training sessions to help less developed players but also work with the 2XI players closely. This will lead to the best training sessions possible for all skill levels within the club.

My plans for Training:

  • Beginner Friendly Sessions at the start of Term One
  • Role-Specific Nets; New Ball, Spin, Death Overs
  • Communication between Captains and Training Sec for efficient sessions
  • Feedback forms after sessions
  • More fitness based training sessions
  • Practice matches within the CC
Adwaya Datir

I’d be a great fit for Training Sec because I’ve been at nets consistently since the start of the year, so I know what makes sessions run well. I’m organised enough to manage sign-ups and split people into ability-appropriate nets, and I’ll keep things fair week to week so everyone gets a chance even if they miss the form. I’m also happy to keep nets structured with clear rotations and timings so we actually get quality reps in. I’ll bring the club kit, flag any missing or broken equipment early, and I’m quick to reorganise when people drop out last minute. Basically: smooth, fair, and productive training.
