Hi, I’m Christina, a first-year Geography and Economics student at UCL with a strong interest in consulting, external engagement, and building meaningful partnerships. I enjoy connecting people and organisations and supporting initiatives that create value for student communities. In high school, I served as President of the Economics Society, where I organised weekly events and actively reached out to sponsors and external partners. This experience taught me how effective communication and persistence can secure resources that help societies grow and deliver impactful programmes.
I am applying for Vice-President – Sponsorships & External Relations because I admire how UCL Consulting Society promotes professional development and industry exposure through panels, case workshops, office visits, mentorship and networking. I want to strengthen and expand the society’s relationships with consulting firms and corporate partners to support these initiatives.
If selected, I would focus on identifying aligned sponsors, preparing clear and professional proposals, maintaining strong partner relationships, and exploring new funding or collaboration opportunities. I would also ensure close coordination between events and partner expectations. My goal is to build sustainable external relationships that enhance event quality and create more opportunities for members.
I’m applying for the Vice-President Sponsorships & External Relations role because, as a Consultant in the Society, I’ve seen how much strong external partnerships directly shape the quality of opportunities we receive. The firms we collaborate with and the relationships we build genuinely define the value delivered to members.
Through my leadership role in the Leo Club, an international youth charity focused on community service, I worked closely with local NGOs and partner organisations to deliver large-scale initiatives supporting over 800 families. Leading a team of 50+ members taught me how to approach organisations professionally, build trust, and maintain long-term relationships rather than one-off collaborations. I learned that successful partnerships are built on clarity, reliability, and mutual benefit.
If elected, I would focus on expanding our network of sponsors, strengthening relationships with consulting and finance firms, and ensuring that every partnership translates into concrete value for members through exclusive events, career exposure, and meaningful opportunities.
Hi everyone! 👋 I’m Chelsie Chen, a Year 2 Cancer Biomedicine student, and I’m running for Vice President – Sponsorship & External Relations for the Consulting Society.
I’m currently the Outreach & Operations Officer at LSF, where I’ve gained experience reaching out to industry professionals, VCs, and startup founders to build partnerships and opportunities for students.
I’ve also had multiple consulting experiences this year, working as a consultant with UCL Consulting Society, Blackmont Consulting, and LSC. As someone currently going through the consulting application cycle, I understand how challenging it can be, especially coming from a science background without formal business training and facing the competitiveness of the field 😭, which is why I want to help create more opportunities for everyone interested in consulting.
Because of this, I’m passionate about building strong connections between students, industry professionals, and alumni to open up more opportunities for our members.
If elected, I’ll focus on securing sponsorships and building partnerships with consulting firms and organisations to support more events, resources, and opportunities for our members, and maybe even make our neighbours at LSE a little jealous 😉💼✨
Thank you so much for your support! 🙌
Chelsie Chen
Through consulting projects, startup competitions, and hackathons, I’ve had the opportunity to interact with founders, mentors, and industry professionals working across technology and business. Those experiences showed me how valuable it is for students to have direct access to people already working in the fields they’re interested in.
As VP of Sponsorships & External Relations, I would focus on expanding the society’s relationships with consulting firms, startups, and other organisations that can offer real insight into the industry. I’d also be interested in developing collaborations that go beyond traditional firm presentations, such as sessions with founders and professionals working in areas like tech consulting, digital strategy, and emerging industries.
