Computer Science Society: Welfare Officer

I’m applying for Welfare Officer because I want to help make Computer Science Society a welcoming and supportive space for everyone.

Alongside academic and technical activities, I believe our society should also be a community where members feel comfortable and connected. Through my experience organising student activities and working in team settings, I’ve learned the importance of being approachable, listening to different needs, and creating environments where people feel able to participate.

As Welfare Officer, I would focus on simple but meaningful initiatives such as low-pressure wellbeing or social sessions, sharing useful support resources during busy periods, and making sure members have an easy and comfortable way to give feedback or raise concerns. Thus, I hope to build a positive and inclusive culture where members feel supported, balanced, and able to enjoy being part of CSS.
