Derrick Osei

I would like to run for the position of treasurer in the civil engineering society because I know I have the skills to handle all of the responsibilities that come with the role to a very high standard. An opportunity to help other people on the civil engineering course by being a part of the committee is a huge priveledge, and something I would love to do! I am quite experienced in the treasuring sector, having monitored accounts for my church over the last 3-4 years, which has helped me develop my knowledge of how money works in this economy. This role also helped my excel skills in making spreadsheets efficiently and adjusting them to show different results depending on what data is requested. Hopefully you can see that a combination of my passion for this society and my skills fit the requirements for this role!

I would love to support the committee as your Treasurer to bring new and fun events to Civil Engineering Soc next year!

I'll use my previous experience in managing finances for my family's business to keep our records accurately with accountability and long-term planning. With this, I hope to support our society in planning more ambitious events to support better student opportunities for all things Civil Engineering or simply fun events to socialise as a cohort! Beyond this, I am reliable and proactive. I meet deadlines, communicate clearly, and will work collaboratively to our align spending with the society's goals.

Whether budgeting for site visits, guest lectures, or networking events, I would prioritise cost-efficiency while maximising value for our members to make Civil Engineering Society work for you!
