Lina Alipbayeva

Hi everyone! My name is Lina and I’m a second-year Civil Engineering student and I’d love to be your next General Secretary in CivSoc. I’m a very easy-going and approachable person who naturally prioritises others, and I really enjoy helping teams stay organised and work smoothly together.

I’m an organised and reliable person, and I like making sure things are done properly and on time. I pay attention to detail and enjoy keeping things structured — whether that’s scheduling meetings, keeping track of decisions, or making sure important information actually reaches people. I know how much the small things behind the scenes matter for a society to run well.

If elected, I’d focus on making communication within the committee clear and efficient, keeping records organised, and helping ensure plans turn into action. I’d also love to support the rest of the team so that everyone can focus on their roles while knowing the logistics and coordination are taken care of. I’ll be the structural support of our society!

I’m really excited about the direction the Civil Engineering Society is going and would love to contribute to making next year even better.

I would love to support the committee as your General Secretary to bring new and fun events to Civil Engineering Soc next year!

Building on the great work done this year I, I would bring my creativity and drive to plan more ambitious events to better support student opportunities for all things Civil Engineering, or simply fun events to socialise as a cohort! Beyond this, I am reliable and proactive, planning ahead to organise the best events we have to offer. I will work collaboratively to bring you more of what you love- from site visits and networking events to socials, I would prioritise your needs to make Civil Engineering Society work for you!
