Cheerleading Club: Sponsorship & Volunteering Secretary

Hii guys I’m Livya and I’m running to be your Sponsorship and Volunteering Secretary! 

I’m running because I want to make the club more financially supported so we can benefit from better resources. I also want to build relationships with sponsors that we’ll actually use, so we can make the most of the offers and opportunities they provide. I’d also love for us to give back to the community through volunteering and to do things that make us proud to be part of the Lightning family.

Some sponsorships I’d aim for include food spots near campus, so you can enjoy discounted meals, as well as activewear brands and even hair and beauty companies.

I’d also love to organise more frequent charity fundraising activities, such as team vs team games nights or for us to perform at hospital fundraisers, while also continuing the Lightning Littles programme to teach children cheer.

I have lots of fun ideas and would love to create more opportunities for everyone to get involved in. 💜💜
 

Through being kit sec this year, I’ve learned a lot, not just from what went well, but also from the challenges. As Sponsorship & Volunteering Secretary, I want to build on these experiences to help our club become even stronger.

💛 MORE FUNDRAISING INITIATIVES

Our annual bake sales are a great tradition, but I want to introduce new events throughout the year.

• “Societies Cheer Showcase” where UCL societies can learn a mini routine and perform while also raising money
• Other events such as leftover merch sales and themed charity events, ensuring we have both low effort recurring fundraising activities

🌟 STRENGTHENING OUR VOLUNTEERING IMPACT

• I want to support the revival of Lightning Littles, and to make this happen, I plan to start DBS checks earlier in Term 1 and aim to restart school coaching by January
• I also want to introduce a volunteer tracking system to ensure volunteers feel valued and motivated. I want to hold recognition awards at the cheer ball to celebrate those who give their time to the club

🤝 BUILDING STRONGER SPONSORSHIPS

My goal is to build clear outreach pipelines across different sectors:

• F&B (food after trainings!)
• Beauty & lifestyle brands (cute hair and makeup for comp)
• Fitness and wellness companies (for our endless injuries and mental blocks)
• Alumni startups (better connections)

Ultimately, my goal is to make volunteering more exciting and meaningful. So if you’re looking for someone who’s passionate and organised, you know who to vote for!
