Shreya Roy

Heyy Lightning!! I’m Shreya but you may know me as Rey and I would love to be your social sec next year! Cheerleading has blessed me with some of my best friends and the socials have given me something to look forward to every single week. I would love the opportunity to host socials that unite the entire club through fun challenges and weekly hang outs. I think friendships within and across teams are integral to Lightning and genuinely the backbone of a strong club!!

My vision for 26/27:

  • more integrated socials between teams
  • more feedback from club to give you what you want
  • make socials more accessible
  • proactively communicate themes to the club so everyone is ready for the next social!!

Your vote would mean the world to me!!

Daisy Stirling

Hi everyone! I'm Daisy and would love to be one of your 26/27 social secs!!🫶

I’m running for Social Secretary because I love the social side of this club just as much as the cheer. I fear I am so committed to a good night out that the Scala bouncers literally recognise me from the queue, and then say 'same time next week?' when I leave.

Joining Lightning has genuinely been one of the best parts of my time at UCL so far. I love the sport itself, but even more than that, I’ve found some of my closest friends through this club. As Social Sec, I want every new member to feel as welcome and included as I did when I first joined in September, and I would love to help create a fun, supportive atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable being themselves and where we can make lasting memories together. Cheer is such a team-dependent sport, and when people actually know each other and get on, it really shows on the mat. I already have loads of theme ideas lined up, and I’d love to see even more people getting involved and fully committing to Sports Night. I’d also really like to bring in more relaxed, daytime socials, things like peg and snap making before comp days, so there’s something for everyone, not just nights out.

As much as I love a good night, I also understand the responsibility that comes with this role. I am organised and responsible and promise to make sure every event is not only fun, but safe and inclusive, so everyone feels comfortable and looked after.

Thank you!!⚡️💜

Hey guys! For those who don’t know me I’m Claudia :) I’d love to be social sec because I can honestly say that the social aspect of cheer has been such a big part of my first year! It’s been so nice to get even closer to my teammates through the socials, but also to get to know so many other people from other teams. That’s mainly why I’d love to be social sec - cheer is a huge club and there are so many lovely people to meet (I defo still haven’t met everyone!) so I’d love to be a part of organising events that hopefully make us bond even more as a club. I think we can all agree Cheermas was a highlight – I can assure you as a December baby Christmas is my favourite time of year so I will take the planning of Cheermas VERY seriously. Another big part of the social life of the club is of course sports night. With 100% attendance of every Scala this year (yes, I even went both reading weeks) I can assure you that I do not play around on a Wednesday night. I’ve dressed as milk, brought a hammer to the Rocket, worn a bally as a roadman.... basically I love a theme, and I have so many ideas for next year. I’d also love to plan some socials outside of the regular Wednesday ones, and I’ve got some good ideas cooking... Of course, there’s also cheer tour and cheer ball – while I haven’t experienced them yet I am so excited and can guarantee I will plan them as perfectly as I plan Cheermas :) Just trust, the social life of this club will be in good hands if you vote for me :)
