I am running for this position because I am passionate about making academic and professional opportunities in the field of oncology more accessible, useful, and impactful for our members.
The field of cancer research and clinical innovation is constantly evolving, and students need more avenues to get involved in that world, whether it is through research opportunities, skills workshops, academic talks, or talking about working in the field of oncology. I want to make more connections between students and the medical, research, and charity communities so that students can get involved and make the transition from interested to experienced and dedicated.
I am especially passionate about making our academic events not just impressive on paper, but useful and impactful, so that they are focused on skills development, inclusive of different levels of academic experience, and supportive of students at every stage, from those just interested in cancer biology to those with more specialized goals and aspirations.
For me, this role is about creating structure, opportunity, and clarity so that our members feel empowered and connected within the cancer community at UCL and beyond.
