Why do most committees come to a late realisation that: People don’t come back to a society because of one good event?
They come back because of how the society made them feel while they were there!
Over the past year at UCL, I’ve worked across societies and student-facing roles and seen what fills rooms and builds true loyalty. That intersection between high-quality events and real member care is exactly why I’m running for this position.
If elected, my focus is simple but intentional:
→ Events that feel worth leaving your room for: Stronger themes and better pacing so our events feel high-energy and professionally run.
→ Visible Welfare, not symbolic: Clear support touch points and socials designed to integrate people. Be ready to network with ambitious people in a safe environment!
→ Consistency across the year: A structured events rhythm members can rely on, from high-value career events to genuinely enjoyable community moments.
Why me? Because I care about the full member experience and creatively direct. I think about what happens before the event, in the room, and after people leave.
Moreover, I am calm under pressure and very attentive to the small details that would shape YOUR best experiences.
Business Society already has scale. With sharper events and more intentional welfare, it can have real loyalty.
If you want a committee member who will protect both the energy and the people behind it, I’d be honoured to have your vote.

Hi! I’m Kush Mittal (BSc Information Management for Business), and I’m excited to announce my candidacy for Vice President of Events & Welfare at the UCL Business Society.
As a First Year Representative, I’ve supported the organisation of competitions and initiatives within the society, helping deliver events and engage students in practical business experiences. Through this role, I’ve gained insight into how strong events and a supportive community shape the overall experience for members.
My Vision:
- Delivering Engaging Events
I want to help organise well-structured and impactful events, from competitions and panels to interactive workshops, that provide meaningful learning and networking opportunities for members. - Strengthening Community & Welfare
Alongside events, I aim to ensure the society remains welcoming and inclusive, where members feel comfortable participating and connecting with others. - Enhancing Member Experience
By working closely with the committee, I hope to continuously improve both the quality of events and the overall experience for everyone involved in the society.
Hi, I’m Christina, a first-year Geography and Economics student at UCL. I enjoy trying new things, even when I’m not great at them at first, like horse riding, boxing, and learning guitar. Alongside this, I was President of my high school Economics Society, where I helped organise activities and weekly sessions. That experience showed me how much work goes into planning events and engaging people, and I found that I genuinely enjoy bringing people together.
I’m running for Events VP because I love the atmosphere the Business Society creates. As a first-year student, workshops such as financial modelling and mock interviews, and networking socials like pub socials made UCL feel less intimidating and more welcoming. These events helped me explore career paths and also feel supported when everything felt new. I want to help create these moments for others, especially for freshers who may feel unsure at the start.
If selected, I’d make events more approachable and less intimidating, not just formal talks. I’d introduce interactive formats like small-group networking, themed career talks, and beginner-friendly skills sessions. I’d also improve social media promotion so more students feel encouraged to attend. My goal is for members to leave feeling welcomed, supported, and more confident in themselves and their next steps.
Hi everyone, I’m Wali
I’m running because societies work best when people feel both supported and excited to be part of them. University can be intense, and while we’re all here to grow professionally, the experience should also feel welcoming, balanced, and genuinely enjoyable. I want the Business Society to be a place where people feel comfortable showing up, meeting others, and taking a break from the pressure of university life.
As Welfare Officer, my focus would be on creating a supportive environment within the society. That means making sure members feel included, heard, and able to reach out if they need support. Small things like regular check-ins, open conversations about wellbeing, and making events accessible can make a big difference in how people experience a society.
As VP of Events, I want to focus on events that people genuinely want to attend. My goal would be to organise a mix of social, professional, and collaborative events that bring people together. From relaxed socials to interactive speaker events and collaborations with other UCL societies, I want our events to feel engaging, memorable, and worth people’s time.
If you want a Business Society that feels welcoming, well organised, and full of events people are excited about, I’d really appreciate your support. Thank you.
Hi everyone! I’m Yanisa, current Bizsoc First-Year-Rep of Events, running to be your Welfare Officer and Vice President of Events. From joining the DECA Case Championship to helping out with logistics at the IIC, I have connected with industry professionals and like-minded students who passionately taught me how to enhance my skills and business career journey, motivating me to work up to their trust. So, I want to give back by improving welfare support and bringing in fresh events to the society.
My initiatives include:
- Increased micro hands-on projects: While panels are useful, I wish to introduce more short, practical projects, eg. short startup competitions where students build something tangible—such as a Chrome extension or an Instagram brand
- Strengthen partnerships: Continue the legacy, make Bizsoc the official society that different big firms know about. Bring stronger prizes such as internship opportunities or coffee chat opportunities.
- Ensure consistent welfare and snacks: Continue to provide food of your choice, such as pizza and snacks at events to make sure you feel recharged and energetic enough to lock in!
My previous experience as the Director of Operations in launching ‘Charish’, selling 300+ water bottles and lunchboxes, has helped me develop strong leadership and communication capabilities that will allow me to excel in supporting Bizsoc's growth. I’m dedicated to helping each of you succeed in the business field within a supportive and inclusive
