Hi everyone! I'm Jasmine, a 1st year Communications student and current Marketing FYR, running to be your Vice President of Marketing. As a participant in DECA this year and volunteer at IIC, I experienced firsthand how this society builds connections, develops skills, and opens career doors. I'm now eager to make these opportunities more visible through marketing.
Outside the society, I've worked as a brand content intern for an account with 500K+ followers and localised media assets for Asian audiences on a growth team. These experiences sharpened my design, communication, and editing skills.
As VP of Marketing, I aim to grow our audience through consistent, multichannel promotion. My initiatives include:
-
Multichannel Promotion – Expand to Xiaohongshu and LinkedIn to attract more members, highlighting the career benefits of getting involved
-
Consistent Brand Kit – Create a collection of visual assets (logo, colours, etc.) to ensure consistency, streamline delegation, and allow for easy handovers
-
Sponsor Collaborations – Build relationships with sponsors and explore cross-promotional opportunities to market them in return
-
Marketing-Focused Events – Partner with other UCL societies to host talks and networking sessions with industry leaders in marketing and PR
As a current FYR, I've created content and begun expanding our platform presence. I'm excited to bring fresh ideas and help fellow students stay engaged with the business world while leading the society to success.
If our events are strong but half of UCL never hears about them, we are leaving opportunity on the table!
That’s exactly why I’m running for VP Marketing. Over the past year, I’ve worked hands-on in society marketing and content strategy at UCL. I have tested what actually gets students interested, and more importantly, what gets them to show up. I’ve seen the gap between posting content and driving real engagement. My goal is to close that gap for Business Society.
What I will do differently:
- Market with data, not guesswork. I will track what formats and messages actually convert and double down on what works. Expect strong intentional growth.
- Make Business Society impossible to ignore: Cleaner visual identity, strong reels strategy, and consistent high-quality promotion so our events feel premium before they even start.
- Make Business Society the most prestigious: My focus isn’t vanity metrics. It’s full rooms, waitlists, and real buzz around our society.
But beyond tactics, here’s why I care: Business Society has huge potential. With sharper, more strategic marketing, it can become the most visible and respected society at UCL, the one students actively watch for opportunities.
I bring consistency and a genuine obsession with what makes audiences pay attention. If you want marketing that actually brings creative growth, I would truly value your vote.
Let’s make Business Society the one everyone notices!
