I'm Chiara and I’d love to nominate myself for Vice President of UCLBC. After serving as Social Sec this year and being a part of the senior women's squad, I feel this role is a great opportunity to build on what I’ve learnt. Being on committee has given me a strong understanding I have a strong understanding of how the club functions and what it needs to run smoothly, and I would carry that experience forward into this position.
I’m always open to hearing suggestions about how we can improve, be it socially, in terms of wellbeing, or through training and I believe being approachable and open minded are essential for members to feel heard and supported. Through organising events this year, I’ve developed experience in planning, coordination, and problem-solving, and I understand the care and attention needed to create something meaningful.
I want to play an active role in the kind of special moments that had such a lasting impact on me as a novice, particularly my first Boat Ball and Give It A Go session, which are a big part of why I’m still so invested in the club now in second year. I will commit myself to giving back to the club by continuing to organise events that strengthen the bonds and friendships this club is built on. I would support the President and Treasurer in their roles and work to ensure the club continues to grow in a positive and inclusive way. Most importantly, I want next year’s members to have as special and memorable an experience at UCLBC as I have.
I would love to be vice president of the UCL Boat Club as I believe it is definitely the best society in UCL which I have loved being a part of during my first year in university. I would try my best to make it as great as possible for all members next year and I believe I would be able to help do this as VP!
Hi everyone! I’m Thavisha and I’m running for Vice President this year!
If I’m elected VP, I’ll make sure our big events stay loud, legendary, loose and memorable! I’ll support the President and the rest of committee fully, I’ll step in when needed, I’ll handle the details so that everyone else can just enjoy being part of this club. I won’t take this lightly, because this club isn’t something small to me.
I’ve already had the privilege of serving this club as its Maintenance Officer and Novice Women’s Vice Captain besides my previous experiences being head girl at school and managing and overseeing within a corporate setting. Both roles have taught me how much work happens behind the scenes- staying organised, being dependable, and showing up even when no one sees it. I’ve learned how to communicate clearly, take responsibility, and support others properly, and I’d bring that same commitment to the role of Vice President.
If you vote for me, you’re trusting me with something I genuinely value and the boat club has meant a lot more to me than early mornings, cold water and racing… it’s the people, the moments and the memories that make all the chaos worth it, and I’d be honoured to help look after that.
Stay loose- and vote me for VP 🩵💜
