Charlotte Underwood

Hey everyone!

We would be honoured to be next year’s novice women’s captains. After having thoroughly enjoyed our year as novices, we’ve continued to dedicate our time to the club this year as part of the senior women. We can both confidently say that boat club has made our time at university so far, and are excited by the prospect of giving back to the club and instilling our love for it into a whole new group of people.

We will each bring different skills and experiences to the role, enabling us to form a great team. With Charlotte’s teaching knowledge coupled with Joss’s sporting experience, we know that we’d do well in fostering a well-rounded crew.

We have many aspirations going into the role, one of which is to ensure the new novice women understand what it means to be a part of Boat Club, and feel supported within it. Through signposting events with the whole term in mind, we’re keen to help the freshers get the most out of not just the rowing but the socials too.

We’ve been so inspired by the hard work of the previous novice captains and are dedicated to building on their successes, bringing fresh new ideas and culturing a medal winning group. We’d love to see lots of our novices progress in the club, whether it be striving for W1 or gunning for a committee role, we believe creating a nurturing environment will be conducive to this development.

Ultimately, being elected would truly mean the world to us and we would give it our all!

Lots of love,

Charlotte and Joss. 💙💛
