Arthur Hucknall

Hi everyone, I’m Arthur. Over the past year on committee, I’ve really come to appreciate how strong this club is — not just in terms of performance, but in terms of its community. The early mornings, the shared setbacks and wins, the way people step up for each other — that culture is what makes representing UCL something we’re genuinely proud of. It’s rare to find a group that is this driven and this supportive at the same time, and that’s something worth protecting.

As President, I want to help the club grow while taking care of what already makes it great. I’d like to see us expand our competitive presence and raise our standards, but in a way that strengthens, not strains, our culture. That means clear communication, thoughtful leadership, and making sure every squad feels connected to one club. My goal is simple: build on the momentum we have, grow sustainably, and ensure this remains a place people are proud to be part

Isabelle Grace

I have been in the rowing world for 5 and a half years- it is a huge part of who I am. I've medalled at Nationals, coxed crews to Brit Champ medals, and raced at all the big races minus one (Bow tore her achilles heal 3 days before Henley and I'm still not over it). I currently coach adult beginners and improvers and help manage a competitive junior crew at Barn Elms.

Over the years, I have learned what makes a good rower, a good coxswain, a good captain and a good coach and I understand how intricately the roles interlace. After having been under both terrible and wonderful management over the past 5 years, I know how to keep a club running smoothly: I'm involved in boathouse meetings at Barn Elms and understand how tricky management can be behind the scenes.

UCLBC has given me a wonderful community and I want to ensure that everyone can integrate into the club and experience that same sense of belonging. I believe in collaborative leadership- I want to work closely with the captains to give them the space and means to drive performance within the squads and ensure the wider structure of the club effectively supports them. This means creating an environment that promotes competitiveness and high performance while remaining flexible enough to adapt to what rowers want and need throughout the season.

I am calm under pressure, highly organised, and proactive when it comes to solving problems and implementing change.

& I'm officially endorsed by the current President :)
