Biotechnology Society: Head of Operations

I am standing for Head of Operations because I have really valued the balance of events the Biotechnology Society has provided this year. I have enjoyed both the industry talks and the more relaxed socials like beer pong and board game nights, and I want to help maintain that mix of academic and social connection. My goal is to contribute to organising events that are genuinely beneficial to our members and to help foster a strong sense of community within the society.

I believe I am a good fit for this role because I am proactive, approachable, and focused on turning feedback into practical improvements. During my gap year, I worked in a cytogenetic and pathology lab where, alongside experimental work, I was responsible for arranging team events. This gave me practical experience in organization and showed me how logistical efficiency directly impacts group morale. I want to bring that same approach to this society to make sure every member, especially first-years, feels heard and included in everything we offer.
