Hi all!
My name is Ainhoa and I am a first year Biomedical Sciences student standing to be your next Treasurer.
Why I’m running I want to ensure this society is financially transparent, sustainably run, and accessible to all. Every member deserves to know their fees are being put to good use, and I am committed to making that happen.
What I bring As finance officer of my school's business club, I managed budgets and delivered financial accountability within a team. I also organised fundraising campaigns, including raising money for an animal rescue centre in Ecuador. Beyond this, I founded my school's STEM club and have volunteered extensively in my community, so I understand what it means to build something people genuinely care about.
My top priorities
- Share clear, regular budget updates so every member knows where their money goes
- Keep accurate records and ensure spending stays on track throughout the year
- Actively apply for union grants and funding opportunities to maximise our budget
- Build financial reserves so the society can be more ambitious each year
I am dependable, detail-oriented, and a committed team player who welcomes feedback, because you know best what you want from this society.
I would be honoured to serve as your Treasurer, vote Ainhoa!
Hello everyone! I’m Nicole Huang, an incoming Year 2 student running for treasurer.
As treasurer, I will ensure our budget supports all students by managing funds responsibly to maximise opportunities for social and academic events.
I have prior experience handling event funding in high school, having organised a student-led event in high school funded by the charity Kids4Kids, delivering an ‘English learning day’ for the HK JF Kennedy school, with 20+ volunteers. This experience strengthened my skills in careful planning, budgeting and accountability. I also helped run a charity fundraiser supporting Operation Smile, selling handmade candles, where I managed sales and balanced the profit-to-cost ratios to ensure financial efficiency.
These experiences allowed me to become more organised, reliable and detail-oriented, whilst strengthening my communication and teamwork skills - qualities I will bring to this role.
I hope to maintain the society’s success by doing the following:
- Work closely with the committee to plan affordable, high-quality events.
- Seeking sponsorships and funding opportunities to expand what our society can offer
- Supporting initiatives that benefit both international and home students
- Managing budget efficiency with clear, regular financial updates to ensure transparency and maximise value for members
I will make sure every pound goes towards improving your experiences in society! Thank you, and I hope I earned your vote :)
Hi, I’m Nicole Lee, a second-year Biomedical Sciences student at UCL.
As Treasurer of the Biomedical Sciences Society, I want to ensure that the society’s finances are managed responsibly and transparently. At the same time, I aim to use our resources to bring the community closer together by supporting events that allow students to connect outside of lectures/seminars. This includes using our budget to organise enjoyable social events and parties that create a strong sense of community within the Biomedical Sciences cohort :))
