Currently barely surviving the first two years of BSc Biomedical Sciences, I have survived the wrath that is BIOL0003 and ANAT0005/6 - I believe I would be a worthy Year 3 Representative of Biomedical Sciences Society, mainly because I bring...

  • My madness Anki flashcards (lowk saved my BIOL0003 grade) - memory is my forte, if I've met you once - I will definitely remember you until graduation whether you like it or not: and I hope this creates the impression where you can trust that I am friendly, approachable, and committed to recognising our community
  • My professional complaining and rage baiting skills - the SPC meetings will never catch me lacking - I bring communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills: when things need to be voiced, I can ensure that you are seen and heard within BiomedSoc
  • My dumbass who decided that Stream 1: Organs and Systems was the way to go - which has forced me to be organised and on top of my work (because what the hell was that ANAT0005 and PHOL0003 clash in term 1??!!) - you can ensure that I am easily contactable through Email, Moodle, Whatsapp, Instagram, X, Snapchat, Linkedin, Tumblr, Pinterest, r/AITA, Hypixel...
  • Dr. Houston knows me by first name 😝😝😝 (I hope she still remembers it) - idrk why I put this, I hope this symbolises that I did at least something right

With my power of neek and nerd, I can ensure that the experience of Year 3 students in BiomedSoc will always be seen. See y'all at the litty boat party 😝😝

Sonia Teng

Hi everyone! I’m Sonia, a second year biomed student in Stream 2 (control systems), and I’m excited to run for 3rd year rep! I’ve genuinely loved biomed over the past two years, and I know it can get intense, so I want to help build a society that feels supportive, inclusive, and easy to reach out to. I’ve previously been an academic representative in high school, where I organised peer tutoring and study workshops for younger students preparing for exams. Through that, I built experience gathering feedback, organising support, and making sure students felt heard.

If elected, I will:
-    Help third years feel more prepared for what comes next by sharing clear guidance and opportunities around master’s routes, internships and careers.
-    Organise career-focused events with professors and alumni, including CV, interview and application workshops
-    Organise a workshop/Q&A session for first and second years on module and stream choices
-    Run office-hours style drop-ins (online or in person) and an anonymous feedback form, so everyone has an easy way to raise concerns or suggest improvements regarding anything about biomed

Overall, I want to be an approachable point of contact who listens and follows up, so students always feel supported and represented. Thank you for your support!

Teresa Papageorgiou

I am running for 3rd year representative because I want to not only make sure our year group has a strong voice but also make sure we feel properly represented in the kinds of talks and activities that biomed society organises. As a third-year student, I will be able to understand the specific pressures we face, from balancing demanding academic work to thinking about future careers, placements, and postgraduate opportunities. I want to help make the Society more relevant to our needs by supporting events and making sure student feedback is heard. Overall, I am standing for this role because I want to represent my peers, improve communication between students and the Society, and help make our third year as supportive and rewarding as possible.
