Keona Francis

Hi I’m Keona, an undergrad Psychology student eager to contribute to BIS as your president! To me, behavioural innovation is an applied, interdisciplinary field that draws on psychology and behavioural science to shape how people think and make decisions in the real world. I am deeply motivated by the impact this has and believe in its potential to drive meaningful social change. Having previously served as Vice President of my class and society, I believe I have developed the leadership skills needed to guide a team, ensure a smooth execution of events and coordinate initiatives effectively, qualities which I believe are essential as President.

If elected, I would focus on fostering greater interest in behavioural innovation by building a stronger, more engaged community. My main aims would be to:

  • Increase social events to help our members connect with like-minded individuals, not just within BIS, but across universities through inter-university collaborations.
  • Strengthen awareness of BIS and its opportunities by building a stronger and more consistent social media presence.
  • Maintain the high standard of our flagship events while streamlining current planning processes (i.e. annual nudgeathon, applied projects, collaborations with industry experts and socials) to ensure smoother execution for future committees.

Overall, I hope you will give me the pleasure to serve and grow this society I am increasingly passionate about, strengthening its impact within the university and beyond.

Mu Lan

Hi, I'm Mu Lan, and I'm running to be your next BIS President.

I'm an incoming third-year Psychology and Language Sciences student at UCL, and behavioural science has been at the heart of so much of what I've done here.

My experience includes:

  • UCL Psychology Society Vice President
  • Intern, Behavioural Science and Public Health Network UK
  • UCL BIS Nudgeathon Director
  • UCL BIS Applied Projects Team Representative
  • London Nudgeathon Prize Winner
  • Singapore Psychathon Prize Winner

My vision for 26/27:

As president, I'd focus on three things:

  1. Meaningful connections: Ongoing outreach to industry professionals through networking events and seminars, giving you real insight into working in behavioural science and opportunities for one-on-one conversations

  2. A new BIS podcast: A space to demystify behavioural science, explore how it's applied in the real world, and hear directly from leading figures within UCL's Behaviour Change Programme

  3. Inter-uni socials: Building community with behavioural science societies at other universities, so we're part of a wider network

—along with the other current things in place such as our applied projects as well as the London Nudgeathon.

With my past experience leading psychology society as well as just being a part of the various UCL BIS projects, I've built real skills in project management, stakeholder communication, and team coordination — and I'm excited to bring all of that to this role.

Really looking forward to working with everyone!:)
