Hi, I’m Ophelia, and the current Events Director for BIS. I would like to become Communications Director because I believe that alongside the study of behavioural science, we should actively encourage engagement with the wider UCL community.
Through contributing to an applied project on reducing food waste in UCL halls, I developed a deeper understanding of how framing and accessibility could shape behaviour. This inspires me to think more about how BIS presents its initiative to ensure our messaging is compelling and strategically designed. As Events Director, I’ve also gained valuable insight into factors that attract student engagement. Being involved in organising events and workshops has shown me that communication is essential to participation, from how events are structured to how they are promoted. This experience reinforced my belief in the importance of behaviourally informed communication.
In addition, I have practical design experience with the use of Canva to create posters for Psychology competitions, alongside a GCSE in Graphic Design. These improved my skills in visual layout and creative presentation.
As the Communications Director, I will work to ensure BIS delivers professional, engaging, and impactful communications. Thank you for your support!
