Hi, I’m Anna, a second-year History student, and I’m really eager to build on the fantastic work of this year’s committee. Baking is something that brings people together and I’d love to help ensure our finances are managed thoughtfully so we can continue hosting fun, accessible events, and growing our community.
I’m also keen to work closely with the rest of the committee to make sure our funds are spent responsibly and efficiently so that you get the most out of your membership fees.
I’m organised, dependable, and, most importantly, committed to putting the time and effort in to make sure this society continues to be a welcoming place for lovers of all things baking.
I’d be so grateful for your consideration for the role of Treasurer.
Hi everyone!
I’m Zon, a second-year Statistics student, and I’m standing to be the Treasurer for Baking Society.
I’ve really enjoyed being part of the society as baking is one of my favourite things to do, and it’s been great meeting people who are just as enthusiastic about it (and eating the results). Some of you might have already tried my bakes at events or bake sales and I even managed to snag Star Baker once, which I’m still quite proud of.
I’m standing for Treasurer because I’d love to help support the society behind the scenes and make sure we have the resources to keep running great events. Baking can get expensive very quickly, so having someone organised with budgets, reimbursements, and funding applications is really important.
As Treasurer, I would focus on managing the society’s budget carefully and applying for SU funding and grants whenever possible so we can afford good ingredients, supplies, and more baking events. I’m happy to deal with the forms, payments, and slightly painful admin that comes with it, and I’d work closely with the rest of the committee to make sure we’re using our funds in the best way possible.
My goal would be to keep everything organised so the society can continue hosting fun bake-offs, socials, and bake sales without constantly worrying about the budget!
I really love what this society brings to people — a place to share food and relax — and I’d love to help keep it running smoothly.
Thank you for considering me!
With over three years' experience in managing financial ventures for a Girlguiding unit, I am standing for Treasurer because I am a highly organised, financially responsible individual, motivated to contribute meaningfully to Baking Society. Through my experiences, I have developed strong financial skills by budgeting for large-scale events and handling transactions. In 2024, I fundraised £3200 for the charity, managing income and expenses that required close attention to detail and accountability, skills I believe make me well-suited for this role in managing society's budgets effectively.
At UCL, in my roles as Department of Geography Academic Representative and Geographical Representative, I have demonstrated persuasive communication skills by advocating for students and serving as a liaison among them, the department, and the society during meetings. Therefore, I feel confident in my abilities to liaise with a range of stakeholders, including the Student Union, the President, and other Committee members, to manage budgets transparently and professionally.
Overall, I would ensure that society's funds are managed carefully and clearly communicated to all committee members to maximise opportunities for society members. I am eager to bring my financial experience, organisational skills, and enthusiasm for baking to the table to support the society's continued success.
I swear I have baked before
Apparently you need a Treasurer so I'm happy to take on the role if no one else wants to do it.
I have lots of experience being a treasurer for other societies so I know how to deal with the Union etc.
happy baking!
I'm a firm believer in food and baking bringing people together. As your treasurer, I would be actively creating and organising inclusive events that are fun and build a welcoming and friendly baking community. Having nearly finished my first year at UCL, I know firsthand how Baking Society is a perfect way to meet new people and make great friends. With my enthusiasm for the society, I can bring to the table ideas and help plan events that are enjoyable for everyone.
Having been an Events Officer for the Baking Society this year, I believe I have the skills to step into the role of Treasurer.
Hello! My name is Seb Chapple and I feel like I would be a very good fit for the Treasurer role for baking society. I am a regular attendee of baking society so far for this year, attending nearly all the events and having so much fun, getting to know the community well. Now that I am comfortable in baking society, I feel like I can make a contribution by directly helping out with the events next year, as the role of Treasurer. (Aside being a maths student haha), I am very good with numbers and know that I can take on the big responsibility of handling the finance and numbers side of baking society, while still enjoying the events themselves. I am confident in myself to keep track of the numbers during every event, and I really enjoy working in a team, so I feel like I would slot in and adapt perfectly. I would love to contribute to making baking society a even more amazing society (which it already is!) and I feel like my skills are best suited to being the Treasurer for baking society.
Thank you for considering my application!
I’m applying to be treasurer because I care about the baking society and want to make sure it runs as smoothly as possible. By budgeting carefully and planning ahead, I’d like to support more creative baking events, workshops, and socials while making sure our finances stay well managed.
