I am an undergraduate Economics student applying for the role of treasurer because I believe disciplined financial management builds the foundations for growing opportunities. I will efficiently budget and analyse financial records, allowing the society to maximise members' experience. By collaborating within the society, I will convey financial direction so that Asset Management Society can make guided, data-driven decisions. This will create an environment centred around continuous expansion, allowing us to provide targeted interventions and services catered towards you. I hope to position us for sustainable scaling in both quantity and quality.
Previously managing financial statements at a leading accounting firm has equipped me with a strong proficiency in quantitative analytics software. I am reliable, organised and have adopted a problem-solving mindset. These assets have lent themselves to a meticulous work ethic, harbouring a crucial attention to detail.
I am driven by impact and hope to channel strategic resource allocation into tangible change. Financial transparency remains a key goal of mine and I will strive to generate surpluses for reinvestment into you.
Dear UCLAM Members,
I am excited to announce my candidacy for the role of Treasurer and truly appreciate your support and confidence in me.
UCLAM has been an integral part of my journey at UCL. From joining the committee as an Investment Analyst to serving as the Head of Speaker Events in my second year, my time with the society has been surrounded by amazing people and filled with lasting memories.
This year, I had the privilege of leading the Bootcamp - a full-circle moment for me as just a year ago, I was an eager participant, captivated by the knowledge being shared. Additionally, I helped spearhead fireside chats with investment professionals from Vanguard and Barclays, while also successfully securing 2 recruiting partners, VAR Capital and Velox Capital Partners, that are eager to seek talent from UCLAM.
As Treasurer, I am committed to supporting the society’s growth through meaningful events while upholding its longstanding traditions. I intend to strategically allocate the budget to strengthen UCLAM’s social and professional initiatives; these include enhancing networking events, partnerships that actually lead to internships, and society socials (even more poker!) to create more valuable opportunities for our members.
I look forward to continuing my journey with UCLAM and contributing to its success. Thank you for your support and belief in my vision.
I am standing for Treasurer because I believe the Asset Management Society should treat its own finances with the same seriousness that the industry treats capital allocation. If we spend our time discussing markets, risk, and investment strategy, the way the society manages its resources should reflect those same principles.
The Treasurer’s role is not simply administrative. It is about deciding how limited resources can create the greatest value for members. That means prioritising events that genuinely deepen understanding of finance, supporting high quality speakers, and ensuring that spending is transparent and disciplined.
I am particularly interested in the idea of stewardship. In asset management, capital is something entrusted to you, and the responsibility is to allocate it thoughtfully and with a long term perspective. I think the same mindset should guide the society’s finances.
If elected, I would focus on keeping accounts clear and organised while making sure funds are directed towards initiatives that strengthen the society intellectually and professionally. My aim would be simple: careful management, thoughtful planning, and ensuring that the society’s resources are used in ways that genuinely benefit its members.
I am standing because I believe the Society can do more to help members think like investors rather than just applicants. Asset management is about judgement, discipline and long-term thinking, and I want our events and initiatives to reflect that. I would push for more practical discussions around portfolio construction, risk, and current market positioning, alongside stronger connections with industry professionals. My goal would be to make the Society a place where members develop conviction and clarity, not just technical knowledge.
I am running for Asset Management Society Treasurer because after attending so many of the society’s events this year, I’ve seen how essential strong financial oversight is to delivering high-quality programming that genuinely supports students exploring careers in investment and portfolio management. Engaging with panels, workshops and networking sessions has helped me understand what members value, and it has motivated me to contribute to the society’s financial stability, sponsorship growth and long-term sustainability. My experience managing budgets, overseeing cash handling and coordinating multi-event fundraising programmes raising over €25,000 across year-round initiatives has equipped me with the discipline, accuracy and transparency required for responsible treasury work. I have managed procurement, tracked spending, completed reconciliations and produced financial reports for stakeholders, demonstrating reliability and attention to detail. Additionally, my finance internship strengthened my analytical skills through exposure to credit assessment, risk analysis and financial documentation, giving me a solid foundation in financial reasoning. As Treasurer, I aim to build clearer budgeting structures, expand sponsorship pipelines, ensure responsible allocation of funds and support more ambitious, technically rich events. My goal is to help the Asset Management Society maximise its impact while operating with professionalism, accountability and long-term vision.
Hi, I’m Christina, a first-year Geography and Economics student at UCL with a strong interest in finance and financial management. I enjoy working with numbers and maintaining clear, organised records, and I believe these skills are essential for supporting high-quality and sustainable society activities. In high school, I served as President of the Economics Society, the largest academic society in my school, where I organised weekly events and managed event budgets and expenditure. This experience taught me how careful planning and financial oversight contribute to smooth operations and long-term sustainability.
I am applying for Treasurer because I admire the mission of the UCL Asset Management Society to equip students with practical investment knowledge and real-world experience. From the student-run investment fund and technical bootcamp to professional talks and networking events, the society provides valuable exposure to areas such as hedge funds, private equity, and real estate. I want to support these initiatives through strong financial organisation and transparency.
If selected, I would ensure finances are accurate and up to date, support structured budgeting for events and programmes, and work closely with the committee to allocate funds efficiently. My goal is to maintain financial clarity while enabling the society to continue delivering high-quality educational opportunities.
