Sofia Chiaramitara

Hey! I’m Sofia and I’m running for Social Media Creator. Here’s a little about me: I’m a first-year Psych with Education student, I’m Brazilian, and I love arts, meeting new people and using my creativity in any way possible.

The main reason I’m running is because the Arts for Mental Health Society has genuinely been a happy part of my first year at uni. It gave me a space to breathe, to express myself, to forget about deadlines for a while, and to create cute little souvenirs that now decorate my accommodation. Because it supported me, I want to give something back. I want to help maintain and grow this community where people can be creative, connect with others, and take care of their mental health, something that is very important to me (no surprise coming from a psych student).

Now… why ME for Social Media? First, I am genuinely creative. I love aesthetics, design and making things look pretty. Second: I probably spend a little too much time on social media, but for once, that might actually be a qualification. And I’d love to use that knowledge for something meaningful. As Social Media Creator, I want to help the society grow and reach more students who might need a creative escape just like I did. But I also want to celebrate the amazing members we already have. I’d love to introduce things like member spotlights, behind-the-scenes content and posts connecting art and mental wellbeing to raise awerness.

Your vote would mean so much!

I would love to contribute to Arts for Mental Health Society as Social Media Officer because I strongly believe in the power of creativity as a tool for wellbeing and self-expression. As a Psychology and Language Sciences student, I’m particularly interested in the relationship between mental health and creative outlets, and I think social media can be a great way to highlight how art can support community and emotional expression.

I enjoy creating visual content and have experience using tools such as Canva and photo editing apps to design engaging posts and graphics. I like thinking about how visual layout, colour, and messaging can make content both appealing and accessible. I would be excited to help promote society events, share members’ artwork, and create posts that encourage participation and discussion around mental health and creativity.

I’m also someone who enjoys collaborating and bringing ideas together. As Social Media Officer, I would aim to keep the society’s online presence active, welcoming, and reflective of the supportive community the society represents. I’d love to help showcase the society's events and reach more students who might benefit from engaging with art and mental health initiatives.
