Ashmit Mishra

I'm a first-year HPE student. AI is moving faster than most people can track and keeping up with what's relevant in all the noise has never mattered more. Our AI Society has a real opportunity to inspire and teach. Content is how you do that and it's something I've spent years working on.

What I bring:

1. Content and social media experience. Working with a team as School Prefect, we grew our social media presence to 600k+ views. As Gavel Club President, I founded a social media team from scratch, producing  promo videos and building a consistent cross-platform presence.

2. Making complex things accessible. I led the designing of content for underserved communities with no prior context, learning to break down complex ideas while pushing for AI-driven content strategies.

3. A broader perspective on AI. I follow the landscape closely, the technical as well as the policy, ethical, and societal dimensions. That breadth is an asset for content that speaks across all disciplines.

If elected, my priorities will be:

1. Short-form explainers on a fast-moving landscape. Accessible content on new developments and frameworks, making AI less intimidating and more relevant to every UCL student.

2. Showcasing the society's work. Event recaps, initiative spotlights, and coverage of UCL's AI research, making the society's work visible beyond current membership.

3. Content for everyone. AI is a policy, ethics, and society story as well as a technical one. Our content should reflect that breadth.
