Emma Parker

Hi everyone! I am Emma and I will be starting my MA in the History of Art at UCL this September, following my graduation with a BA in History. With my experience as the Treasurer and Deputy Events Officer of the ABS this year, I have had a first hand insight into the events that genuinely engage and enrich our members with both experience for a career in the art market and a chance to socially engage with fellow students across departments. I am passionate about creating accessible event that create a space for really important conversation and discussion, as well as enjoyable events that reflect our members worries and passions regarding the art market and the pursuit of a career within this. From art fairs, guided tours and panels, aswell as coffee meet ups and evening drinks, I love having the chance to meet all of our members, and ensure our members feel engaged and able to talk to the committee about any concerns or ideas they have to ensure our society continues to grow and develop new ideas and events! As a self certified professional of wine bars and art events, I am sure that I can continue to work with you all to set up and host events!

Quitterie Chaptal De Chanteloup

Hey everyone!

My name is Quitterie and I am a final year law student, returning from a year abroad in France. Having served as your 2024/2025 Welfare Officer, I’m so excited to be back in London and running to be your next Events Officer!

My time on the ABS committee gave me firsthand experience helping organize everything from panel discussions, speaker events to opera trips and I’m eager to build on that momentum. Beyond ABS, I was elected as General Secretary of the Debating Society during my year abroad. This role sharpened my ability to organize smooth conferences and socials, so I know exactly what goes on behind the scenes to make an event successful. Furthermore, I’ve completed an Art History course to deepen my understanding of the art world.

I am eager to build on the society’s legacy by collaborating with industry experts to host events that are intellectually stimulating as well as career defining. Between my genuine enthusiasm for the art business world and my desire to contribute to the society’s continued growth, I truly believe I have the right experience to help us thrive this year!

Thanks for reading! If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out

Miray Duran

Hi everyone,

My name is Miray Duran, and I am a first-year History of Art student aspiring to pursue a career in the art business sector. I am running to be your Events Officer.

Events are central to the Art Business Society, as they provide students with opportunities to connect with industry professionals. However, without strong organisation, they can quickly become chaotic and diminish everyone’s experience. Whether it’s discovering there is no room booked for a talk or attending a networking event without refreshments, these small logistical details can have a big impact.

My goal is to ensure the event infrastructure runs seamlessly so members can focus fully on gaining knowledge and building connections with professionals in the art world. To achieve that, I will work closely with the rest of the committee to ensure that every detail is carefully managed.

My interest in this role stems from my previous experience in logistics and event organisations, where I developed strong organisational skills and learned to manage budgets, deadlines, and unexpected challenges effectively.

I appreciate your consideration and would appreciate your vote.

Miray
