Hello voters,
My name is Martin Feffet and I am a first-year BSc Economics student. Ethnically, I am from Cameroon but live in Southeast London.
Without wasting much of your time, I will go ahead and say that I’ve been a treasurer of a large-scale event which is the main reason why I would be a great fit for this position. For my Sixth Form’s Christian Faith Celebration Event, I had nominated myself for the role which required that I manage the finances regarding the event, which was attended by over 200 people. Without the help of AI, I blended an ounce of careful notetaking with a cup of mental arithmetic and topped it off with a pinch of carefully examining receipts. This ensured that every penny was accounted for, which is a responsibility I will embrace if elected as ACS treasurer. It was made even more difficult by the fact that I was using my personal bank account, which made me more attentive regarding revenues and costs (don’t worry, I didn’t keep the profits). The role also required that I buy some of the snacks myself, and I am more than willing to do the same now. I know I could’ve mentioned many other characteristics and skills, but I decided to demonstrate tangible experience which shows that I am fit for the role and, more importantly, your vote.
The second reason is that it will look good on my CV, which you could generously help me strengthen.
I hope these reasons show that I am deserving of your vote and will make a great Treasurer of ACS.

I would like to apply for the position of treasurer in the African Carribean Society as I think I am best placed to take care of the finances of the society for the next term. UCL ACS has meanta lot to me as a first-year student, as it proided me with a great community to engage with people who are like you and may have gone through the same struggles that you may have had in your life. Going to many events and interacting with different people has shown me the power that this society has to attract people from different places and still make everyone feel at home. Having an opportunity to give back to the society through a committee role is something that I would love to do. I am quite experienced in the treasuring sector, having monitored accounts for my church over the last 3-4 years, which has helped me develop my knowledge of how money works in this economy. This role also helped my excel skills in making spreadsheets efficiently and adjusting them to show different results depending on what data is requested. Hopefully you can see that a combination of my passion for this society and my skills fit the requirements for this role!
Thank you very much!
