Hi - many of you know me as Pri, and I’m currently your VP at UCL 93% Club. I’m seeking to stay in this close knit community in the upcoming year as Welfare and Communications Officer, where I hope to keep all the good times going, keep that instagram sharp (thanks Lily for setting the bar high) and always be able to offer you a pack of tissues from the deep dark depths of my bag.
I’ve had experience running UCL Water Polo’s Social Media (look, we all have our flaws), for the past year, in which I’ve secured a £2k sponsorship, gained 10k views on reels, and just preserved good colour coordination. I hope to utilise my strengths in Canva for our instagram, always making sure there is a post up for our biweekly socials and awareness of upcoming events/programmes.
I would also like to introduce a biweekly newsletter, in which I highlight deadlines for applications or interesting cool events that you could all attend. Life as a university student is busy - I’d love to simplify this by making sure there is just a page that you can rely on and refer to.
On the welfare side of things, I’d love to be able to continue running coffee mornings. It was an idea of mine in which we open up society to those who are commuter students, or those who do not hang around until 7:30pm on a dark Wednesday night. I’d propose to run them at a frequency just as high as our pub socials, so people can pick and choose, and know that they always have a space for me to provide aforementioned tissues!
Hi everyone, I'm Phoebe! I'm running to be your Welfare and Communications Officer for 93% UCL.
It's firstly important to say that 93% is very close to my heart. It utterly transformed my uni experience when I stumbled upon the society in first year (as an extremely anxious student flooded with impostor syndrome) so much so that I just had to join the committee in my second year. It's safe to say I truly underestimated what it would feel like to be a lifelong state-schooler in such a prestigious environment but I certainly felt the weight of that and that feeling has made me absolutely dedicated to improving our experience and representation at UCL however I can.
I'm running for Welfare and Comms because I think it's the best way I can use my skills for our cause. As somebody with experience in journalism both in a UCL context and beyond, I understand the value of succinct, tailored and accessible communication; as somebody with a huge personal interest in illustration and design, I would really like to put these skills t0 use for the cause I strongly believe in. My previous role as a 93% representative has given me knowledge of the network and personal experience of members' stories which I believe would lend itself well to the welfare role.
I wish everyone good luck, and thank you for reading!
