Sabrina Hart

Hi everyone! My name is Sabrina Hart, and in the 2025/2026 academic year, I will be a third year in the classics program. I joined the Women in Finance Society my first year, and was immediately struck by how strong and supportive the community was. Pursuing finance roles, internships, and jobs can often feel incredibly stressful and competitive. This is why it is so important to create a safe atmosphere for all of our members, and actively plan check-ins and fun events to support every single member as much as possible.

I was the Welfare Officer for the In Aid of UNICEF Society this past academic year, and loved connecting with members and creating spaces where everyone felt safe to celebrate their success and speak about things that might be troubling to them. I will use and build upon this experience for my role as Head of Welfare in the Women in Finance Society, creating wellness events such as colouring evenings, wellness check-ins, and cafe trips. I promise to be a person with whom you can share any concerns you have, whether inside the society or about university life in general, with confidentiality. We are so lucky to have a community of strong women coming together to improve the future of finance, and I can’t wait to create an environment where we all feel supported and appreciated.

Aryahi Dam

I am running for the position of Head of Welfare for Women in Finance Society as I am dedicated to creating an environment where women in finance feel confident and valued and am always here to listen, offer advice, and ensure that every member feels comfortable reaching out for support. Finance is a dynamic and extremely competitive field, and as women, we flourish when we  uplift and empower each other. My goal as Head of Welfare is to create a supportive, inclusive, and inspiring environment where every member feels equipped to succeed in the finance industry. It is important to me to make the Women in Finance Society a safe and welcoming space where welfare is at the heart of everything we do. Whether it’s mental well-being, professional support, or personal development, I will ensure that every member has access to the resources and support they need to thrive.  I am committed to put your well-being first, ensure that this society remains a positive and supportive space, and help you grow personally and professionally in the world of finance.

Advitha Gona

This position would give me the opportunity to organise and lead initiatives enabling career growth and supporting mental health and well-being. I would love to be part of this team and work together to empower women to pursue a career in finance, through fostering an inclusive and collaborative environment. My team-working experience, in the GAIN investment challenge, LEAD and as the charities and services leader in school, has allowed me to develop the necessary leadership, resilience and flexibility skills for this role. I will strive for members to feel heard and become better equipped for the workplace. I would continue and grow the networking opportunities the society provides, alongside running the events enabling members to thrive in the competitive finance industry. I would like to implement (potentially anonymous) CV and cover letter reviews to receive constructive criticism in a pressure-free environment, aiding the ease of gaining employability of members and fostering a supportive community, helping each other. Furthermore, I aim to continue the mentorship program from the previous committee, whilst placing an increased focus on the mental health and wellbeing of members. I would aim to create an inclusive community, increasing participation and the support provided to participants. I have enjoyed my first year of uni and wish to aid others to have a similar, positive experience and can utilise the opportunities to gain skills essential for a career in finance.

Yueqi Zhao

I’m standing for Head of Welfare because I deeply believe that financial empowerment should go hand in hand with personal well-being. As someone passionate about both finance and fostering supportive communities, I want to ensure that every member of UCL Women in Finance Society feels valued, heard, and equipped to thrive.

Through my leadership experience—whether founding AccessifyEd to provide free education or collaborating across regions to build impactful partnerships—I’ve seen firsthand how creating an inclusive, supportive environment drives real change. My work with AIESEC has further refined my ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds, ensuring that initiatives are tailored to their needs.

Beyond leadership, my research and analytical background have honed my ability to assess challenges and develop effective, data-driven solutions. I want to introduce welfare initiatives that go beyond just social events—providing mentorship, mental health resources, and a safe space for open discussions about the challenges women face in finance.

I envision a society where welfare isn’t an afterthought but a foundation. By standing for Head of Welfare, I aim to make well-being a priority, ensuring that every woman in our community feels empowered, supported, and ready to break barriers in the industry.

Kata Mesterhazy

I am Kata Mesterhazy, a second year Politics and International Relations student.

Many people don’t realize how challenging it can be for women to break into and succeed in male dominated industries. That’s why I’m running for Head of Welfare, because I am committed to building a strong support system that empowers women to navigate their careers with confidence and opportunity.

My plans as Head of Welfare include:

  1.  Confidence Building: I will organize confidence-building workshops and career resilience sessions to help women feel empowered and prepared for the industry.

  1. Networking & Safe Spaces: I want to foster a strong, supportive community, providing safe spaces for women to share experiences, discuss challenges, and uplift each other in the competitive world of finance.

  2. Empowerment and Inspiration: I will advocate for women-centered finance events, internship resources, and career development initiatives to help bridge the gender gap.

Vote for me, and let’s work together to build a more inclusive, empowering future for women in finance!
