Keerthana Perinparaj

I am Keerthana Perinparaj, a first-year Economics student. As a woman of ethnic minority, I deeply relate to the barriers facing women in finance. My passion for finance stems from its ability to shape clients’ strategic direction & create meaningful impacts – a vision I wish to extend to the student community.
I propose a ‘Green Sponsors’ initiative by collaborating with firms leading in sustainable finance. These sponsors can also actively engage through providing ESG-focused workshops & panel discussions. I also suggest a termly "Women in Finance" Sponsor Newsletter that features inspiring female professionals & exclusive industry insights from sponsor firms to further strengthen these relationships.
So, why me? As the Head of my school’s Economics magazine, I negotiated bulk-printing discounts with printing firms, a valuable skill required to secure meaningful sponsorships. This role also enhanced my leadership, teamwork & organisational skills. I am a confident communicator and public speaker, having done Speech & Drama since the age of 5, which is vital for pitching to sponsors. Also, I have built a diverse professional network through engaging in various work experiences, from Peal Capital, a female-founded private equity firm, to investment banks such as Rothschild & Co and HSBC, providing strong leads for potential sponsors & guest speakers.
Overall, I am passionate about empowering women in finance and keen to contribute to the society’s impact through this role.
