Sude Iseri

Merhaba! I’m Sude, and I’m excited to run for Vice President of UCL Turkish Society.

For the past two years, I have been an active member of the society, attending events, making connections, and experiencing the incredible sense of community that brings us all together. Now, I want to take that commitment even further by stepping up as Vice President to help make our society stronger, more inclusive, and more engaging.

As Vice President, I want to create various social and cultural events that bring our members together, ensuring that every Turkish student at UCL feels a strong sense of belonging—whether they’re new to the university or have been part of this community for years. I will work to improve communication and engagement, making sure members are always informed and involved. Most importantly, I want to support everyone, because university can be challenging, but together, we can make it a fun and meaningful experience.

With your support, I want to help strengthen our bond and make next year unforgettable for all of us!

🗳️ Vote Sude for Vice President – Let’s make this society even better, together!

Safa Acikkapi

I'm standing because this society truly feels like home to me, it's where I've built amazing friendships and shared unforgettable moments. I'd love the chance to give back by making it even warmer, more fun, and inclusive for everyone . With me as Vice President, I promise various events filled with laughter, culture, and of course, delicious Turkish food! I genuinely believe we can grow even closer as a family, and I'd be honored to play a part in making that happen.

Altay Shaw

Merhaba Arkadaslarim,

I'm Altay, and I'm excited to run for the role of Vice-President of UCL Turkish Society. As your longest serving member, having held membership since 2019, a fifth-year Medical Student, I have always encompassed and had a passion to uphold and promote Turkish values. Since my childhood, I have completed every secondary school examination in my mother tongue, led events commemorating multiple holidays and important dates, significant for the history of our country and our people. Since being at university, I have served on academic, welfare and social subcommittees, leading efforts in societies including having had the honour of being the President of Kinesis Magazine, delivering positive outcomes on campus and nationally.

In the role of VP, I will not only aide all members of the committee but, introduce new activities. Sessions aimed at supporting those trying to connect with their routes through evening events, Turkish language sessions, networking & development sessions, as well as drop in sessions - whether this is through evening meals, film and tv screenings or inter-Turkic society events. I will endeavor to continue to build off the work of committees before me, promoting a space of inclusivity and diversity.

By ensuring we prioritise what our members want, we will continue to ensure the Turkish Society will thrive and continue to reach new heights in the upcoming year.

Thank you considering me, and I look forward to serving all of our members.

Efe Tekin

Hi, I’m Efe. I actively participated in all Turkish Society events during my first year and later took on the role of Outreach and Sponsorship Officer. I've worked hard to bring Turkish people together through various events, and I hope our committee has made everyone feel at home.

In my final year, I want to contribute even more by becoming Vice President, supporting every aspect of the society—from finance to event organization, wellbeing to sponsorships, and everything in between. I want to help expand our reach, improve our events, and strengthen our sense of community, ensuring that every member feels connected and valued.

What I Will Bring:
✅ Events that feel like home – Whether it’s a rakı-balık night, a Turkish breakfast, or a lively meyhane evening, I want to organize events that make you feel like you’ve stepped right into Turkey.
✅ Bigger and more diverse gatherings – From cultural celebrations to networking events, ensuring we have something for everyone.
✅ Stronger external partnerships – Securing sponsorships and collaborations to provide more opportunities and benefits for our members.

Through all these years, my goal for this society has remained the same, and it always will, whether I’m on the committee or not: Turkish people, even during the hardest years of their lives, will always know how to make each other smile.

Let’s continue growing this incredible community together!
