Despite not having been on the team for very long, I am running for captain because I believe that my passion and love for tennis makes me a strong candidate who is committed to leading the team to the best of my ability. Having already been captain of my high school tennis team, I know that communication, organisation and teamwork are crucial for good leadership which I aim to utilise in this role. I plan to continue to use a text groupchat to communicate effectively with the team and will manage a clear and simple spreadsheet for matches. I also know there will be new players joining next year and to allow for more team spirit, I will organise dinners and other team-bonding activities so that the new players can feel more welcome with existing team players and let everyone to connect more. In addition, I know that once a week training can be hard to attend every week, therefore I would like to organise more informal team trainings and matches between ourselves and with other teams in BUCS and with other universities so that we can practice with more diverse players of different levels. For training, I will liaise with the coach about what the players in my team particularly want to focus on each week so that everyone can make the most of training to improve. Overall, I am running for captain because I would like to encourage even more competitiveness and team spirit so that W2 produces the best results it possibly can, and I believe I have the skills and passion to do so.

Hello everybody, as a quick intro to myself, I'm a second-year student at UCL and I have been a member of the W2 team as of this year! This year, we had two fantastic captains who continuously brought a positive attitude to the team and demonstrated immense dedication to both trainings and matches, two values I seek to promote throughout next year. I believe that fostering positivity, active participation, and overall commitment are the keys to success when it comes to leading a team, which is why, I decided to run for this position, as I would like to build upon the foundations of this team, and help us reach our maximal potential!
