Mahathi Annam

Hi, my name is Mahathi and am running for Welfare Officer for UCL Telugu Society because it is an incredible opportunity to be part of a society through which I can cherish and connect with my culture and help others to do so as well by making it more accessible, celebrated and visible within our university. I’m friendly, approachable and good with handling responsibilities so will be able to offer advice and guide people in the right direction with concerns to do with wellbeing of other members in the society.

I’m committed and dedicated and I’m excited to be able to bring new ideas, a fresh perspective and creativity to the role and work in a team!

Sanjana Kamineni

Hi everyone! I’m Sanjana and I would love to be your next welfare officer for Telugu society. Meeting many new people through socials to watching telugu society smash it with their incredible dance performance at the annual fresher’s fair, my experience with Telugu society has been memorable, and one of my favourite parts of first year. I’ve definitely enjoyed tapping into my Telugu roots, for example playing a YouTube-assisted spin on antakshari, and getting to know others in the society while doing so.

As a newer society, telugu society has done a great job thus far in bringing together telugu people and as a part of committee next year, I would be able to continue doing so by helping liase with other societies both internal to UCL and other telugu societies from nearby unis to organise social and cultural events, allowing this society to feel like a home away from home.

I hope to help other members of the committee and society itself feel as welcome and supported as I did, as your next welfare officer of telugu society. Thank you!
