Hey everyone! I’m Dui-Lan, and I’m running for President of TEDx UCL.
Since joining both the Events and Marketing committees, I’ve been deeply involved in shaping this society—helping organise our annual conference, coaching Hamza Buhari for his TEDx talk, managing our social media, and leading weekly member discussions and outings. I took minutes when needed and constantly pitched ideas to improve our society.
But TEDx is more than just a society to me—it’s a platform for powerful ideas, a space where conversations expand our thinking.
I still remember my first TEDx member discussion—we debated whether AI teachers should be integrated into schools. Each person brought something unique—an ethical perspective from philosophy, a technical insight from a master’s student in AI. That moment showed me the true power of TEDx: different backgrounds, different minds, one big conversation.
As students, we should be at the forefront of change—thinking critically, challenging ideas, and making our voices heard. TEDx gives us that space.
If elected, I’ll:
- Collaborate with other London universities to create an all-London university TEDx conference
- Create a training camp to train students who want to become TEDx speakers
- And open to all your suggestions too!
TEDx has helped me grow, and now, I want to give back and take it to the next level. Let’s make TEDx UCL bigger, bolder, and better—together.
Thank you for reading—I’d love your vote!
