Fanni Valisalo

Hi there!

I hope you are all well.

I am Fanni, a theoretical physics student from Sweden. I do not want to waste your time, so I will be concise.

Throughout middle-and-high school, I was involved in several projects, the main ones being co-founder and leader of outreach and logistics of the environmental club for 6 years, Student Council President, Youth Ocean Champion for Keep Sweden Tidy (one of the biggest environmental organisations in Sweden).

Currently, I serve as the co-founder and leader of the UK Youth Chapter branch of the International Women in Business 4 AI (IWIB4AI) global think-tank. I am also the elected First Year Representative at UCL Physics Society.

If you couldn't tell already, I ADORE working with people and organisations inside and outside UCL. The people are truly what make a society so great, and I can tell from meeting some of you at the past TEDx Society events that this community is going to be a great one. It is because of the great marketing that I discovered this society, and I hope to improve it so that our reach is even greater. This is the attitude that I will bring with me as Marketing Director. Know that you can always come to me with any idea and I promise you that we'll try to make it happen together.

If we see eye-to-eye, I hope you vote for me.

Kind regards,
Fanni

Amy Francis

As one of the current Events Directors at TEDxUCL and an active member of the Marketing team, I’ve been deeply involved in shaping our outreach this year; in particular, I played a key role in shaping the visual identity and messaging for this year’s conference.

I created posts and captions for speaker announcements, conference highlights, and matching stories, ensuring a cohesive and engaging marketing presence. I also introduced the idea of posting engaging content, such as polls and Q&As, on Instagram Stories regularly to boost interaction and engagement.

I’m standing for Marketing Director to elevate our marketing strategy: expanding our reach, refining our branding, and ensuring our events leave a lasting impact. My experience in both event planning and marketing gives me a unique perspective on how to build a stronger TEDx community.

I’d love the opportunity to lead the Marketing team in delivering campaigns that truly embody the spirit of TEDx!
