As someone who is deeply passionate about Tamil language and culture, I am committed to representing and celebrating our rich traditions in a way that is engaging, inclusive and impactful. My experience working closely with the London Tamil Sangam to promote Tamil language and heritage has given me valuable insights into cultural advocacy. I have actively participated in organising Tamil events like Pongal with my local council, bringing together not just the Tamil community but people from diverse backgrounds to experience and appreciate our traditions.
Beyond event organising, I have also published works and analyses on Tamil literature for Tamil school textbooks and currently serve as a `Respect literature' writer for a student-led Tamil magazine. This role has strengthened my ability to communicate the beauty of Tamil culture in an insightful and meaningful way.
If elected as your Cultural Representative, I will ensure that learning about Tamil culture and language is not only accessible but also fun and engaging! Through interactive workshops, creative activities and community-driven events, I aim to showcase Tamil heritage in a way that inspires curiosity and appreciation. This is more than just a role for me: It is a mission to make Tamil culture an integral and celebrated part of our community!
