As a senior member of UCL Taekwondo, I have been exposed to and have been able to appreciate the values that our team embodies. From our strong sense of camaraderie and friendship as well as our enthusiasm and energy both in training sessions and at competitions, there is no questioning why our "family" is if anything, one of the best University Taekwondo club in the UK and I would very much like to contribute to this as becoming the male captain for the oncoming year.
With my previous experience as the team's kit secretary, I am aware of the need for communication and teamwork amongst the committee and members of the team. I believe I can transfer these skills to this new role to maintain a good relationship between individuals in the club.
Furthermore, I believe that my passion for Taekwondo, which extends beyond its physical discipline, enables me to be a very committed and proactive member of the team. I feel this is particularly important in a role that requires an ongoing commitment to supporting and caring for members of our team, whether returning or new, advanced or beginners. Thus, it is with great confidence that I can ensure that our members' needs can be met efficiently and sufficiently with great competence.
Our club strives on the values of belonging and friendship, and for it to be the best club that it can be, and I can imagine no committee role any better than this for next year, and I look forward to working with all of you and next year's new committee.

Hey Everyone! My name is Shilang and I'm a second-year student.
Having trained consistently and competed in many competitions over the last 2 years, I am confident in my ability to lead by example and support the team in reaching our fullest potential. I am dedicated to bringing positive energy to every session and will always be on hand to provide advice and assistance. This year I have had the pleasure of leading the mighty taekwondo run club and a few poomsae sessions: filling in for our coaches as well as helping with warmups, and demonstrations. These opportunities have been both fun and valuable, and I look forward to building on them next year.
What I love most about this club is its warm, supportive atmosphere. As captain, I will strive to be an approachable, friendly face alongside my fellow captains and committee members ensuring teammates always feel comfortable asking questions and sharing any concerns whenever needed.
Ultimately, my goal as Captain is to help create an environment where every member, regardless of experience level, feels motivated to improve and be part of something bigger. I am excited about the opportunity to contribute further to this club and help lead us into another successful year.

Hello everyone, I’m Krishna, and I’m standing for UCL Taekwondo’s captain. UCL TKD has had a massive impact on my life; I joined the club two years ago as a timid beginner and have since competed in C and B class, acquiring gold medals in both.
I believe I’d be a great captain as I’m very motivated, fiercely competitive and dedicated to our club. Having run our Monday sessions with Silvia, I’ve also trained in all WT, ITF and Freestyle aspects in addition to joining the Kixstar Dragons. I push hard at every session, and love to help out however I can (teaching beginners patterns, carrying multiple kit bags, giving pep talks, etc.).
As your Events Secretary for this year, I’ve worked well with our committee and members of the SU and planned multiple events, including organising our Freshers’ Fair. I’ve also run a variety of socials in addition to planning collaborative events with other societies and universities. My experience will allow me to set up Varsity, team-building activities and fight nights in the future.
If chosen as captain, I’d like to focus on fostering our strong team connection; motivating and supporting athletes at all levels to achieve their goals and helping drive our team towards a 9th win. I would also like to work with other captains to promote and organise more ITF and Freestyle sessions.
The way every one of you trains so hard together and supports each other as a family inspires me. I’m so excited to be your teammate again next year. ❤️
