I’m Amira and I’m standing for General Secretary because I have 2 years of experience in admin. This role is not an easy one, but I believe that I’m a responsible and confident individual that will do my utmost best to ensure the club’s success for the next year. During my role as a programmes intern at the Aldridge Foundation, I learnt to organise spreadsheets, manage deadlines effectively and I’ve become brilliant at chasing people up! I can guarantee that I am reliable and I work incredibly well under pressure.
Aside from the technicalities of the role, my experience in volunteering has given me excellent interpersonal skills. I volunteered at a hospital during my gap year where I performed arts activities with elderly patients. This means that I’ve mastered the art of speaking to people which I also believe to be an important trait. I’d consider myself to an approachable person that will do their best to answer any questions someone may have.
With my experience in administration, I believe I am the best person to take on this responsibility. My vision for the UCL taekwondo society is to see it flourish and I’d love the chance to help build this community and make it stronger than ever.
