Lucas Cerezini

Hello everyone! My name is Lucas, and I am running for treasurer.

When I started my studies at UCL, I was worried about whether I would be able to continue practicing table tennis as I had in my country, so it was really exciting for me to find the table tennis club. Participating in the club has been a great experience, and I would like to help the club provide an even better experience for current and new members next year. Additionally, I am very organized, especially when it comes to finances, which is why I believe I am well suited for this position.

Harry Derecki

I’m Harry, a first-year Economics student at UCL and a long-time table tennis player, applying for the role of Treasurer. While I used to compete at a high level- having captained my school team to a national silver medal and represented England in a UK tournament against teams across the country- that was a few years ago. Now I play more for enjoyment and to stay connected to the sport I’ve always loved. However, I believe my experience still equips me with valuable leadership, teamwork, and organisational skills- qualities I would love to bring to a committee role.

Academically, Economics has given me a strong foundation in financial thinking, data analysis, and attention to detail. I’m confident handling budgets and spreadsheets, and I’d make sure the society’s finances are well managed and transparent. I’d also be open to exploring sponsorship opportunities to support the club’s development. Moreover, I have completed a spring week at Deloitte in Audit, which has given me practical insight into financial responsibility and internal processes.

Above all, I’m keen to contribute to a society that’s inclusive, active, and enjoyable- for casual players and competitors alike. I’d love the opportunity to support the committee and help the society grow both on and off the table.
