Suhani Varshney

I am eager to apply for the position of events officer for the UCL Surgical Society. My current roles as the First Year Representative for both the UCL Cardiology Society and Indian Society, combined with my enthusiasm for surgery, make me well-suited for this role.

As a Cardiology Rep, I helped organise the UCL x Imperial Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery Conference and other events like a spin class promoting cardiovascular health and a heart-themed Valentine's Day social. Although some ideas couldn't be executed, these experiences taught me the importance of time management and effective event planning. As an FYR for UCL Indian Society, I assisted in organising large-scale events, including Jashn, which is Indian Society's flagship event. This strengthened my skills in managing logistics and communicating within the team to produce a high quality result so everyone has a fun night.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed participating in events hosted by UCL Surgical Society, like the iNUGSC and Scrubs Run, and I am eager to contribute my ideas. I would love to organise workshops, mentorship programs with junior doctors, and interactive panel discussions with surgical professionals. I propose launching a "Surgical Case Challenge," where students can collaborate in teams to solve real-world clinical cases, encouraging critical thinking and teamwork.

I am excited to bring my organisational skills and passion for surgery to help create impactful events for UCL Surgical Society.

Saloni Mookerjee

Hi everyone, my name is Saloni and I am passionate about bringing you a Surgical Society that is engaging, supportive and full of opportunities. We all know that Surgery is competitive, but the right opportunities can make all the difference and drive you to success, andI want to help create those opportunities. As Events Officer for the Cardiothoracic Surgery Committee, I’ve organised successful talks and networking events with top surgeons, making them accessible and engaging for students.

If elected, I will work to deliver high-quality events, improve the society’s online presence with engaging content, and ensure a welcoming, supportive space for all members. With experience in mentorship, public engagement, and student support, I’m ready to bring fresh ideas and enthusiasm to the committee. Vote for me to make the most of what the society has to offer!
