Surf Club: Treasurer

Hey UCL Surf!!

The November surf trip to Peniche was my first-ever UCL trip. I went alone, not knowing anyone, and even spent my birthday there, which could've easily gone wrong! But from the start, I felt welcomed and met people who are now some of my closest friends. That’s something I want to help recreate for others.

I’m running for Treasurer because I want to give back to the club that made my first trip so special. I believe, surf trips should be accessible, well-organized, and (ideally) stress-free, and I want to ensure our finances help make that happen. As a Management Science student, I have experience working with data, budgeting, and financial planning, which I’d use to keep trips affordable, secure great deals, and support club events. I’m also the designated planner among my friends and have handled budgets for volunteering projects, organizing logistics, and making sure everything runs smoothly. I’d love to bring that same structured approach to UCL Surf while keeping the club’s relaxed, friendly, and inclusive vibe.

Beyond finances, I’m approachable and easygoing, and I want everyone—whether a first-timer or a regular—to feel comfortable joining a trip. I’d also love for members to be involved by suggesting ideas to make our trips and the club even better. UCL Surf has already given me some of my best memories at UCL, and I’d love the chance to help others make theirs!
