Miranda Leung

Hi, I am Miranda - and I will be running for Secretary at SfGH. As someone deeply passionate about global health, I believe I can make a meaningful contribution to the organisation by enhancing communication and organisation within the society.

In my first year, I’ve gained valuable leadership experience, including serving as a course representative. In this role, I have facilitated better communication between students and staff, advocating for the needs of my peers and pushing for positive changes. I also led fundraising initiatives, raising over 7K HKD for UNICEF HK, which solidified my commitment to global health causes and demonstrated my ability to drive meaningful impact.

My academic interests span epidemiology, disease spread, and the provision of primary care for vulnerable populations, especially the elderly. However, my passion for global health goes beyond these topics—I am particularly focused on improving healthcare policy, especially in areas like palliative care, which I believe is often overlooked in healthcare systems.

As Secretary, I will prioritise transparent communication within the society, ensuring that members are informed and engaged with our initiatives. I’ll also focus on organising events and academic talks that align with our mission to raise awareness about global health issues and make a positive impact

I’d be honoured to have your vote and contribute to the continued success of SfGH!

Thank you for your time!
